We have had a great school semester and now that it is out we thought we would blog about it. Chance graduated with his RN and Bachelors in Spanish. It was also his birthday weekend so we were able to celebrate both. We went to Chances graduation and went out to eat with my family at the Old Spaghetti factory. We then celebrated with Chance's family and it's always a party. Chance got a camcorder he has been awaiting for his birthday he also got another dune buggy awhile ago but we bought it as his graduation gift. The new addition has a turbo.

We have been looking for a new 4 Runner for awhile now and Chance finally found one we love on his birthday. It will fun to haul his new dune buggy and nice to have a car that can fit more than 2 people. :)

Chance has been having a lot of fun on his bike as well.

I also got accepted to nursing school. I am super nervous but excited as well. I will start in August and Chance got accepted to his BSN program and will start soon too. He also got promoted to an RN at the hospital. Chance surprised me with an I-Pad for getting into nursing school.

We also went to City Creek it was really pretty.

It'll be fun to have a little break before starting school again. We will keep you posted on our summer adventures.

Summer Adventures 2011

We have had a great summer! It has been the first summer that we have had off together since we have been married! (And the first one I have had off in 10 years since being in school, I didn't quite know what to do with myself at first) but, Chance and I had a lot of fun together. Chance got a new job as an LPN at Mckay Dee Hospital and he only has to work one night a week most nights so that has left us being able to spend time with each other after work which has been a great change too! Here are some of the fun things we have done:

We went to 2 demolition derbies. One in Bear Lake and one at the Davis County Fair. The Davis County Fair was our favorite because my friend Krissy Stebar just got off of her mission and she came with us which was tons of fun! And after the derby it felt like she was still in race car driver mode but we made it home alive:0) Our friends from high school, the Winterton brothers were all in one race together so that was alot of fun to see them race as well.

We spent the weekend at Bear Lake it was really realaxing and really fun! It was much more crowded than when we go in the off months but it was really fun.

Jill, Jamison and my mom hanging out on the beach at Bear Lake. The lake was really high this year but Jill found us a spot by her step dads new home in Bear Lake it was fun.

Chance and Zack were the only ones who were brave enough to get in the water. It was FREEZING!

Chance and I went to the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo. It was great this year! They even had motocross at the end. We also were able to be on the Calton - Harrison Float for the parade. It was a really long walk and TONS of people. We handed out water bottles from this big school bus. It was really heavy but alot of fun. We ran out of water 7 blocks early. We were entry number 81 and there were still more behind us it was a really big parade. My mom waited for 2 hours just to get a quick picture of us. The things parents do for there kids.

Chance has been working really hard for about a year on his dune buggy and this year it is complete. He rode it clear from Avon to Willard Peak. He had a lot of fun! We also were able to ride on Avon together. Zack and Jill and Jamison even came and rode it one day around Huntsville and we had a great time!

Chance is often at home waiting for me to get home from work so he decided to go to the park and fly this giant (6 ft) kite that we got for Christmas from our Aunt Kent and Carol.

25th street has these horses that businesses paint and they set them up. We went for a walk and the money one of course was our favorite:0)

We had a great summer together! Now back to reality... School starts tomorrow for Chance and I. Chance is going to be in his second year of nursing school and when he is complete he will have his RN. He is also working at the hospital. He will get to do his clinicals here as well. So alot of time will be spent at the hospital. Some paid and some unpaid but it will pay off in the end. I am just taking a couple of classes that I need to finish my prerequisites for nursing. I will apply in October and see if I get in the first round. If I don't I think I'll go get my MBA and keep applying for nursing. So we are excited for our future. It has been a great summer!

St. George with Chance's Family

This year we were lucky to get to go to Sky Ranch. It was so nice of the Durbano's to let us go, we had a blast! We went to Sand Mountain (Dunes) and an awesome hike in Quail Creek near by. Here are some pictures...

The Annual Hike

Every year Chance and his brothers go on a hike in Utah with their friend David Lalka. This year Chance, Wyatt, Nate, Brian and David went to Notch Peak and Great Basin National Park. Here are some pictures of their hike...

New York

Chance and I were lucky enough to go along with my mom to a business meeting in New York we had a blast! I was able to go for Christmas a few years ago but it was so fun to see it in both the winter and the summer. There sure were alot more tourists in the summer but it sure was fun! Chance had never been so it was a great get a way!

Chance is in front of Tom's Resturant. It is the one off of Seinfield. We ate inside as well. The inside is different from what is filmed but the outside is the same. This was a fun adventure it was on 112th.

This is the main subway entrance in Time Square. We rode the subway everywhere we loved it!

In time square they have a huge staircase for concerts and such and we sat down and decided to take a pic.

This is where the ball drop on New Years Eve!

The studio for David Letterman's late show.

Chance wanted to touch the birds like they do on Home Alone the movie. This was as close as we got.

This is the LDS Temple in New York. It is pretty cool. It has 4 levels and one level is the temple another is the chapel and then another is the distibution center. It is pretty neat.

This is the Plaza Hotel from Home Alone. It is only $800 a night to stay in the cheap room:0)

The inside of the Plaza Hotel

This is in Central Park where Kevin in the movie Home Alone is running away from the bad guys.

This is another picture from Central Park it is really pretty. It is huge it is almost 12 blocks if I remember right cars can drive through it and everything it is huge!

The Rockefeller Plaza where they film the Today show and this turns into a skating rink in the winter.

The above pics are of the live showing of the Today show and where they film it in the NBC studios.

The view from the Empire State building.

The Tiffany store. It has 6 levels of jewlery there is a security guard that is pretty much assigned to each person and the elevators are heavily monitored it is pretty fun store.

This is the original wooden escalator in the Macy's store. It has 9 levels and 3 of those levels are just shoes!!

Ground Zero. You can see they are still constructing quite a bit. The building off to the side has to come down level by level because it has so much chemical toxins in it.

The Brooklyn Bridge. We walked across it. It was fun and we didn't get to do this in the winter it was too cold so it was fun to go all the way across in the summer.

This was a trees roots that were up rooted during 9/11. They painted it and put it here as a memorial.

The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

The guitar wall at Hard Rock cafe.

Radio City Music Hall where the Rockettes perform. We didn't see them in New York but we saw them in Utah when they came.
